Tyres - DOT codes - reasonable?

I've just bought a set of tyres from an online retailer that rhymes with Dopomeo.
Excellent service, good prices, fast delivery, happy boy.
I've just looked at the tyres (Bridgestone Potenza RE050As) and saw the dot codes.
They're staggered so different sizes.
Fronts, DOT code week 48 2013. Good.
Rears, DOT code week 06 2012. Hmm.
The rears are well over 2 years old.
Acceptable?
I reckon they'll get reduced to canvas in about 15k miles, so in around 1.5yrs.
Am I being an old maid being a bit aggravated by the disparity?

I bought some from them last year, and none were older than about 4 months. I seem to recall something on their website regarding being offered a discount if the tyres that were delivered were over a certain age, and it may have been 2 years. I found their service great, but a few reviews I read did suggest some of the tyres were getting on!

I just threw out a couple of Pirelli 185 13 which were only 5 years old, & very slightly worn.
I accepted them gladly 3 years ago for my TR7, as I prefer it on 13"s to my TR8 on 15". They were the last good stuff available, that my tyre supplier could find for me.
At just 5 years old they had gone very hard, & were getting flat spots in just 10 days or so in the garage. These flat spots were giving a wheel wobble, & were taking up to 75 Kilometers to smooth out.
I have been very pleasantly surprised at how good the Kumho replacements are. I did not expect much, but have found they have more grip than the 5 year old Pirellis had. The turn in is not as sharp, but the ride is better, the steering is lighter, & cornering power no less.
I have also just replaced the Bridgestones on the back of my S2000. At 5 years old, they were getting decidedly dodgy in damp conditions. They were fine otherwise, but you only need to lose it once in the wrong place, & the new ones are much better.
