Private Plate Assignment & Transfer Simultaneously

Anyone done this before?

I have a car with a private plate on it, and have just bought a new private plate. I also have a motorbike with a "normal" number plate on.

I want to do the following;

- Put the 'new' plate on the car
- Transfer the plate currently on the car to the motorbike

I assume I just bung all the forms (Cert of Entitlement, V317 transfer form, 2x V5C and MoTs) in the one envelope and it will sort itself out, with 2 lots of new Tax Disc / MoTs, then two V5Cs received later?

Or has anyone had issues doing this, and would recommend I do it in 2 stages, i.e. Put new plate on car and get retention certificate for 'old' plate, then send Cert off with bike V5C later?
