Hi despite spending 15 mins searching I can't find any threads where the 'PH member approved' accident management company is mentioned. I believe it's run by a member on here? Could someone furnish me with the details please asap thanks.

You won't find a PH approval (probably because there is no revenue stream in it), but I, and a lot of others have has professional advice from http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?mem...

Thanks chaps. Hmm, seems I have the wrong end of the stick as they only seem to deal with non-fault claims (which is fair enough).

Are there any management companies for at-fault accidents where the 3rd party is taking the piss? Very long and fragmented story short: really nice guy I know had the lightest of nudges into the back of the car in front at a roundabout and approx 18 folks jumped out of the car and are claiming for everything under the sun. His insurance company has basically done fk all and it's reached the point where the 3rd party have appointed bailiffs to remove and flog his stuff to get their compo. The bailiffs turned up this morning to remove his £10k car but he managed to fob them off with a story about it being in dispute but they're apparently coming back on Monday. I don't know much else at this point but the guy is in bits over it and needs help fast. He's always been good to me and I thought that the "ph member approved" AMC would be just the ticket but I didn't realise they only deal with non-faulters. frown

Sounds to me like he needs a lawyer rather than an accident management company.

ETA: it sounds like a thoroughly stty situation for the poor chap.

First, I would move the car away from the address in case of return by the bailiffs.

Ask the bailiffs if they have a court order against him, Im not certain of this but if they dont they dont have a leg to stand on, as stated in private parking threads they need this to remove goods, they come round to intimidate.

Has he forwarded all documents/claims from 3rd parties to his insurers? They should be sent recorded with reciepts kept.

Dont respond directly to any claims/correspondence from 3rd parties, just forward them to the insurer, they send it to you directly in the hope you respond and drop yourself in it.

His insurers should handle all litigation, as they have liability

Has his car been repaired, if not wait to repair if possible as this will show light impact

Ultimately his insurers will probably pay up rightly or wrongly, but he will only lose his excess, whether its a £500 claim or £1m one

They exist exactly to screw as much money as possible out of the at fault party. If there's any uncertainty, they're not interested.

There must be a big part missing from your story - are you sure your friend really reported it to his insurance company?

I'm struggling to understand why bailiffs would go after him when his insurer is liable? Have they cancelled his insurance? Even if they have, his insurer still remains liable (subject to getting the money back off him at a later date if they so wish).
