Buyers will be attracted due to the "cheap insurance" though, not everyone is honest and upfront.

So its got a turbo but they haven't told the insurer or presumably the DVLA! I wonder if they told them about the paintwork?

So if they have an accident are they effectively uninsured?

Anyone know how the insurer deals with claims like these; if the (now presumably uninsured) driver hits someone else, do they pay to fix the innocent party and wash their hands with the other?

I think that's generally how it works, same with drunk drivers I believe.

I am not in the business.
There's a lot of generalisations below.

As I understand it, it depends on whether the mod had any relevance to the crash.
If it didn't then the insurance company obviously won't include the mod replacement in their payout - but the insurance will still pay out for what was insured.
But may reduce the payout based on what the premiums should have been.

If the mod did have an impact on the crash then the payout can be reduced to cover the increased premiums which should have been paid for the mod.
If it's particularly blatant ommision then the insurer may try a fraud prosecution. It depends on the sums involved.
It also depends on whether the mods would have made the car uninsurable for the driver.

Afaik the insurance would be void for non declaration.No payout would me made other then premium returned minus any admin costs.

Yes I can. Not exactly to my taste, but I don't have an issue with owning or being seen in something that isn't "resale friendly" metalic Silver.

I do have an issue with no insruance....
