Climax Spotted....What a Car!

At Wayne Hemmingway's classic car boot fair on the South Bankl today and spotted this.....







It's a Climax (think Lotus and Coventry), a one off, completely hand built aluminium bodied race car that can be converted for road use if you stump up the cash (its for sale!). Just two brothers are responsible for it with a little help of some aluminium fabricating craftsmen, Dymag carbon/magnesium wheels and a flat 4 Prodrive engine that produces 350bhp! The guy who owns the company need the money for another very special roadcar project in the pipeline that will be on a similar vibe....can't wait.

I was disappointed it never made it in to production. There are a couple of articles on hear about it.

If they were 2% smart they'd have based that around some custom body panels to convert Boxsters.

That does look amazing. Really needs a high revving V8, 10 or 12 to match those exotic looks though, I bet it's still a good drive, however.

I think it's wonderful, the craftsmanship is 2nd to none, the two bothers running the company had so much time for me and seemed like really genuine, nice, passionate car guys. It's for sale for a LOT of money but when you consider it's a hand built one off I can genuinely say I'd rather have this than any 'supercar' for the same money.

Around six figures! I think that price will get you it IVA'd and on the road. As I say, I'd have that over an R8 V10 spider any day of the week.

Interesting find.
Needs a larger capacity engine, I'd say.
