hi guys

on my e92 335 - im running p zeros and ohlins road and track coilovers (620 bhp with up'd turbos)

in the slow turns - i feel all the strain/stress is on the front outside?? tyre (front left if a right hand turn)

im getting a lot of tyre squeal from that tyre and feel its really holding the car back on entry speeds

also worrying is after the initial weight transfer, as grip is found, the whole car jolts forward onto that outside tyre

im not experienced in car setup/tuning - some research myself and i came to the conclusion stiffer front sway bars should help to spread the load evening along the front axel, and perhaps soften the rear

or perhaps i should stiffen the front coilovers and play around with the caster/camber/toe

i hope ive explained the situation well and hope you can guide me how to try and get my car to handle how i want it

thanks

Do you have any additional bracing installed?

Have you inspected the tyre? checked the pressure?

620hp? How on earth did you get that kind of power increase?

Being that it's on coilovers I'd suspect suspension setup. Suspension is not for 'playing with' unless you really know what you're doing and have geometry equipment. Refer to a specialist. When did you first start noticing the symptoms and did it co-incide with any modifications, changes or incidents?

Believe it when we're shown a dyno / rolling road print out... until then, pinch of salt.

i found this was always the way the e92 handeld, the same day i did coilovers (faster corner speeds thus more noticable handeling charcteristics)also did a lsd but cant see how that affects the front end (though im running more camber on the rears)

the 335 lives in greece and im not convinced with the way it was setup - i guess first step would be a new geometry and try somewhere else for the suspension setup before i go about further stiffening the chasis (though i assume this couldnt hurt)

re bhp - its running wagner fmic, m perf oil cooler, decat akrapovic downpipes and exhaust, vishnu tuned with rb turbos - i would be the first one to say take 620 with a pinch of salt as my tuner always finds a way not to get it on the dyno, but the way it pulls - a bhp figure could easily start with a 6 biggrin

Sounds like you need a new 'tuner' as well as a new geometry place then rolleyes

Possibly the lurch is the LSD locking up and giving push on understeer but tbh you need to get it on track with someone who knows what they're doing and have a play.

Geometry
Some form of body stiffening to allow the above to work.
Upgraded ARBs + throw money at it.
Get it on a trustworthy dyno.

As above, first port off call should be geo and also some body stiffening. Can't see how you could have that car with that much power remain poised with no additional bracing.

Also, was there a sudden change, e.g. a particular mod or it happened overnight?

Which P Zero are you using, as there are more track orientated or comfort orientated models. Also, with so much more performance are you using a wider tyre front or rear.

It could be that your car is just not balanced between power and grip / handling. Sounds like someone in the know needs to take a look and advise you.

Is this on track ? if so its a fairly hefty car going very quickly.
