WD40 & Other Car Related Things That Never Change.

I've been using it for 30 years and, still, the only way they can think of attaching the red applicator tube is by sticky taping it to the can. You use it then you have to try and slide the tube back into the sticky tape, it's a skill you can only master after years of practice.....can you think of any other car related things that should have changed but haven't?

I stick the tube in then cut it off 3/4 inches long so the cap still fits on with it in there. Still get a more than accurate enough spray but it's less likely to get knocked off and stays on there for the life of the can normally.

Sliding it back into the sticky tape? What a weirdo, never heard of that

3 in 1 oil is still the same as it has always been.....as are some of the Autogleam products.....never changing.

I just use an elastic band to keep the tube with the can when I'm not using it.

But you can't go messing around with 3in1 everyone with SU carbs would be stuttering down the road.

Cigarette lighter. Don't think I've seen one that works in a fundamentally different way from the one in my first car, which would be around 40 years old now, and undoubtedly decades futher back than that. Also, some cars now come with, say, B&O stereos (probably not called stereos any more but I'm middle aged) but I've yet to see, for example, an uprated Zippo lighter in a car...

Because the cap gets kicked under the bench on first use. To live the rest of its life next the random useful bits the bench polisher/wire brush flings at mack5.

Re: the WD40 straw...a small piece of blue-tac stuck on the side of the can does the job marvellously.

For those saying elastic band, have you not had a can of WD40 long enough for the band to crisp itself to the side of the can? That way it can fall apart and lose the straw, or bond the straw permanently to the can itself.
