Where to get Insurance for a Cat C ?

I am looking at buying a car I saw in the Bargain Basements forum, but its a Cat C. Repaired in 2012 and with Vic Pass certificate. Was only dent to door, but as its a 12 year old car was classes Cat C, owner has had the car since new, so bought back, repaired properly and with VIC Pass certificiate.

Trouble I am having is getting an insurance quote, my current company and 3 others are saying they cant quote on Cat C.

Anyone out there know of any good companies ? or been through similar and found a way round it ?

Iam mid 40s, clean license, 5 years no claims, but live South Manchester which is a high risk area.

Any advice welcome as would love to finally be able to buy a 75 but cant sort out the insurance.

Not tried this for myself, but you might have some success with the specialist insurance companies Adrian Flux and Frank Pickles.

Good old Swinton might even be worth a try?!

Footman James were fine with a CAT C I had. Check to see if there's an owners group discount as well, some of these insurers do a fixed rate figure for specific marques
