which firms can insure under a chassis number?

I'm bringing back a UK car to NI that has been on German plates for the past 3 years. By my understanding, I will need to get an MOT and insurance to get it back on UK plates, but who will work off a chassis number (and cover Northern Ireland)?

Any advice appreciated

Most of them, as far as I'm aware. Did exactly this yesterday with KGM via Premium Choice.

Most of the online direct companies won't be interested.

If you struggle to find someone to issue cover on the chassis number you will find if you speak to a broker who are near a military base they will be very familiar with insuring BFG registered cars so will be able to help you out

Most manufacturer branded arms of insurance companies can do so - Audi Insurance, BMW Insurance, Mercedes Insurance etc. Talk to the direct arm of the same parent company and you'll get a "Durrr?!" as a response.
