Very quick insurance question

Hi all,

My mother is only looking to purchase and use a car for 2/3 months so I'm trying to help her find the cheapest way of insuring it.

My question is if she insures it and pays monthly if she cancels it after the three months would she have to pay a fee to do so?

Short answer: read the policy.

In general, nearly everyone will charge an admin fee and some will give a straight pro-rated refund, whereas others will have a sliding scale.

Shop around as usual but make sure you understand the cancellation provisions. Note that if she has a claim then the entire premium will be due.
