Insuring a French registered car for use in France

I'm importing a car from a main dealer in France and need insurance to drive it back on its French registration number but non of the main UK insurance companies can help, any recommendations? Thanks

When I sold a car to a chap in France, he got in touch with his local Axa agent in France who insured it based on the vin number. Worth trying the same over here first or French Axa agent...if you speak the lingo.

Cost depends on Puissance Fiscale (CV rating). Up to 10CV it's 40 euros for one day cover.That covers you on both sides of the channel, so no need to get insurance on UK side until you're ready to register it.

They need a copy/scan of your driving licence, and a copy of the Carte Grise....
