Do you negotiate service/ labour rates costs £?

Or do you just go to your dealer/ normal independent garage/ specialists and happy what they quote or do you ring a few to get an idea and go with what you're happy or lowest or if its ball park go to your usual?

An example
I rang a few places for labour on oil change, but ended up with where I would prefer even though not the cheapest

Although I've got some work doing, so do I play off quotes or just go to somewhere I'm happy with with a lower rate

I tend not to challenge or question labour costs at my local independent. Once you've found somebody decent it's worth sticking with them and you'll know they charge fair rates. Let them make a living. They'll appreciate your loyalty too.
