was trying to pull out of a road, and there was quite a lot of traffic passing.
i spy a gap and, having a car that can get away from standing pretty quickly compered to most s
tboxes on the road, go to pull out, there was a decent gap my side of the road but wanted to to right, so edged out into the road, then this prick in some sort of stty softroader floors it to close the gap i was trying to pull out into.
i know he floored it as the front of his front wheel drive softroader rose under acceleration, then he slammed the brakes on an stopped right in front of me. then started to get loud at me through the window. was not going to get into an argument today as have today been to a chiropractor as my back have never been right seens as i was in a couple of big car crashes me being a passenger. turns out its pretty fked tbh, but thats not the point, i was not going to get physical with a guy over him being a cock.

I occasionally get similar - at my age and road experience, whereas 10 or 15 years ago I might have got all 'road-rage' and got out of my car...these days I just ignore it and drive on. There have been, are, and will continue to be a wealth of people who are 'total cocks' - especially when they are all safe and invincible in their cars...especially 'dick extension' 4x4's...
My estate (housing, not stately home...) has two exits onto what is these days, a pretty busy A-road with a 40 limit.
One exit is basically un-useable at times anything other that at night - it's a T-junction that, when you get to it, you will sit at for ages and ages waiting for a gap. I stopped using it years ago.
The other exits onto a roundabout, with one of the other exits down to a large Sainsburys. It's still a busy junction, but one has a little more time and opportunity to get out of it.
When waiting at it, cars stream down from my right, and as it's downhill and onto this fairly wide, well-sighted roundabout, they generally don't even hesitate at their give-way entry onto it - they enter at a fair old pace.
But as we know, if you are a vehicle already on a roundabout, then obviously traffic entering must give way. But you try telling that to my local knobs!
I'll wait at the roundabout, see a gap, and pull onto it. However, there might be a 'wideboy w**ker' or 'busy Mum', often in an 'I'm way more important than you 60-grand 4x4' flying up to the roundabout from my right, but still a fair distance from the entry point. I am now 'well established' as traffic on the roundabout, totally over my give-way lines, and driving normally - but because the aforementioned drivers, who have flown onto the roundabout way after me, but at warp speed and have hence found their way impeded by my already-established vehicle, they then see this as a total slur and personal insult on them - how dare I - I then get a broadside of horns, over-exaggerated braking manoevers, and then am usually tailgated for the next mile, with high-beams and 'coffee beans...'
There is just no need. It still amazes me how clearly usually normal, well-adjusted adults can react in such an incredibly aggressive and over-the-top fashion as this. Human psychology, when driving, can be a very strange thing to comprehend...

My only exit from my housing estate is similar to the one above. The only difference is that, instead of a Sainsbury's, there is a narrow bridge and passage under it is governed by lights. This raises 2 problems: the first is exactly as above, the "I've just had a green light, why should I now give way on a roundabout?" attitude. The second is selfish wkers who stop in a line of traffic caused by the lights, blocking the entrance onto the roundabout, despite me sitting there indicating to go right.

When I had the 911 I got all sorts of abuse when I overtook people who were doing 45/50 on a perfectly straight bit of road in a 60 limit, but they were then happy to carry that 45/50 through a 30 limit and I obeyed the limit. I just had to appreciate the irony and have a little chuckle to myself.
Having lived in London for years I made a habit of letting people out of side-roads, but I find it hilarious now I live in the countryside, you flash people and wave them out and they just don't know what you're doing.

Deliberately winding up other road users makes you a bit of a tt IMO holes... I don't know what's up with people's attitudes in a car in general. If two people almost bump into each other in Tesco it would be a "sorry mate" from each party and they would carry on with their day.
If I was on the road outside Tesco and two people came within 2 meters of colliding in their cars then each of them would hurl abuse at the other party along with various hand gestures.
My view on road rage is simply "Chill out lads, life is too short".

My decision making on whether to let people out is wholly dependent on what sort of person they are and what car they're driving. Something sporty looking/younger driver/Audi-BMW rep mobile/taxi I'll let out as generally they'll get their toe down. s in Rover's/Volvo's/Micra's/Pug 106s/drivers of people carriers/buses, they can stay where they are as they're guaranteed to drive along at 20mph. Also depends on what's behind me; if there's a big enough gap behind me then you can wait! Really annoys me when people in front brake to let people out of side roads causing me to have to brake as well.

Along similar lines, Doug Stanhope explained why there aren't fights outside bars in the US. 1. You don't know who has a gun and 2. if you get hurt it's on your insurance (if you have it).As a person who cycles regularly, I hate it when drivers pull out and do this. I then have to look behind look behind me and see whether the vehicle behind me is still going to try and overtake or whether or not they will hold back. I basically have to overtake your car that's now in my way.
