How to get temp certificate now the DVLA offices are closed?

So, I'm going abroad at the end of the week and have just got a new car & still waiting for the V5 to come through. Now, this used to be simple enough, go to the local office and get a V379 temporary certificate.

How do I do that now they've all been shut? Do I have to drive to Swansea to get one?

Hey, it isn't quite that dumb a question; it's not like it only has one potential answer.

I called up the DVLA to ask if I could go and get one at Swansea but got told "no, we don't do those anymore". Which is pretty annoying.
