Cars you wish had depreciated more!

In light of the brilliant cars you can't wait to depreciate thread I thought i'd stick this out there.

Personally I wish vx220s and lotus elises would drop to daft money (think used mx5) but for a nice example you still need to pay over 10k. Not much for most on here but as a toy I can't justify it!

More upmarket - the Audi B5 as others have mentioned and continental GTs!

The Jaguar XJ TDVi, I know they are known to be a little shonky in terms of reliability but the engine seems good and they'd be really useful as a family car. However, they're pretty depreciation resistant for a Jaguar. No doubt one day they'll be cheaper.

BMW 1M - still around 40k

E92 M3 - still around 25k for a decent one.

I have however noticed the Z4M coupe seems to have gone up in value, which again is annoying

Z4M is definitely a perfect example! Bleeding TVRs too, I've been looking at them dropping since I was a teen thinking I'd get one eventually, but now they're going up in value faster than my salary is!

This seems to be true of a lot of those homebuilt caterham replicas, apart from a couple of truly awful ones

Since when did classic minis get built out of pure gold? I wanted one... could pick a half decent needing some work for a grand not long ago. There all wanting 3-4k+ think iv missed the classic mini boat. Im now looking at kit cars... same story

We recently had an early Cooper (now for sale) valued for Dealer sale at £25K!

Always wanted one, by the time I could afford one at 20, almost 8 years ago now (they were about £6k for a good one with 50k miles) now the cars are 8 years older, have double the mileage, but are worth about the same!

The latter did drop to around £15,000 even as recently as 2010 but for some reason their values have gone through the roof in the last few years.

mini prices are silly IMHO - I paid something like £140 for a brown one back in the early 1990s
