bonnet. not really. a motorbike can have an exposed engine. and the front side of a truck/bus will cause far far more serious injuries.

Exactly, a bike is designed to have exposed parts. A car engine will have plenty of sharp bits. Moving belts and fans ... I don't see how anyone can defend these actions but this is PH.
I once managed to write a scrapper off outside my house many moons ago. I had already taken the bonnet off it to remove the engine and needed to spin it round the other way. I got hit side on by a jet bottle gas van that I pulled right in front of. The police turned up and he was somewhat bamboozled by the lack of bonnet.
There was no Mot, I didn't have any insurance and it had 3 flat tyres. The end result was £50 fine and no points. You had to love those early 90s solicitors, with the amount of TWOCS going on they knew more about the law than the people that wrote them. Jerry Crangle and Sons, the car criminals friend.

I said similar on the thread in SP&L, but kind of attributed it to being similar to recent advice given by some users on here with regards to people with non roadworthy cars being driven to an MOT centre or just driven anywhere they like even if they're not road legal or possibly got problems if they've been stood for so long without being used.I reckon it's highly likely that if that lad had logged on here & asked the question "can i drive my 306 to a scrap yard with most of it's parts missing in xyz condition?" some users here would still have told him to "chance it mate as there's little to no chance you'll get done" as it seems to be the way PH has gone the last year or so for advice

They demand you pay them money but its no worse than the situation above. You may even loose your liberty for a short while but is it really any worse lying in a cell watching TV than lay on the couch watching TV.
If you step back and take a look, its just all a house of cards trying to trick you into staying a slave to the system. Once you are dead you are dead and no amount of authority is going to change that.

When you get your statement it will show you have less money than you had previously but its just figures printed on a bit of paper, I could do that.

Many years ago I drove a car a similar distance to my local scrap yard. It had no bumpers, no lights, no number plates, no interior except for a drivers seat, no exhaust system but perfectly good engine & running gear.
I was stopped by the police about 500 yards from the scrap yard entrance. I got a b
king at the side of the road plus a court summons. On the big day though I managed to get away with just a telling off!!!!
