1000 per year, how to value ?

Wondering if anyone can help input here.

I know of a late 2002 Volvo S60 D5 SE that may be coming up for sale later in the year.

The car is immaculate, one owner, fully serviced etc and literally covered 1000 a year.

There are two choices here.

Sell it if there is a market for it or make it a daily commuter doubling the mileage in 4 months.

Any thoughts on a market for a car of such low mileage ?

I cant see a 12000 mile example being worth notably more than a 50000 mile example.

It would worry me that it has only ever gone a mile down to Tesco and back and never been warmed up fully. There's low mileage and too low mileage!

My uncle will need a car soon and low mileage appeals. Assuming it's not damaged have a firm offer of. £2k to think about.

Quite. 1,000 miles is just not enough. especially for a diesel. Anything less than around 6,000 miles a year and I'd start thinking about actively reducing the amount I'd pay for a daily driver.

I would worry it still had the original tyres on and a host of problems from lack of use, having said that the value probably wouldn't change much if you did use it as a commuter for 4 months.

It's just seen very little use. It's not used much at all, but when used its for decent runs. Never been used for runs to Tesco.

He sounds like my father in law.

W reg 2000 car, with 13000 on the clock. No journey less than 15 miles. Walks to the shops, won't take car out in rain, or if there's salt. (he just cancels what he had planned)
