audi a3 1.8tfsi on long life servicing

Hello, the car I am looking at is a 2008 model and It has had services at: 20,000 38,000 52,000 and 62,000 miles. The car has been on long life servicing, Is there anything wrong with this? Any more info would be helpful.

Nope all fine. It's the type of oil they use. My R32 was on it too before I bought it. Makes no difference.

My diesel company car is on longlife servicing and doesn't get an oil change for about 20k miles at a time.

If it was my car and a long term keeper, I would probably do an additional oil change every 10,000 miles for piece of mind. The oil in a diesel engine looks pretty nasty after 20k miles!

Engine seems to run fine though.

You can change the oil changes to fixed, so 9300mls or 365 days

If you buy it, budget for dropping the sump and cleaning/replacing the strainer though, as these can block and cause low oil pressure

You're thinking of the older engine as found in Mk1 TT or Mk4 Golf GTi

Longlife is fine but fixed servicing is better for the engine as the oil will be changed more frequently.
