What car??? 997 C2 . AM V8 or the left field choice..

Afternoon all..
As a member with possibly the lowest posts/months on site ration its a rare moment I start one, as unofficial king of the lurkers..
The time is upon me to grow up slightly in the car stakes, having worked at Max Power in my youth with the one and only Garlick my car choices have been childish to say the least..
My circumstances have changed and I'm now in a position to be a bit of a grown up, just wondering what experiences people have had with any of the following, ideally owned both..
I have only driven the 997 and it was a real do it all and seems the safe choice, I had a passenger ride in the M12 an age ago but it blew me away, the V8 is a total unknown to me but just looks amazing and a bit of a dream to own an Aston..
I have only done 11k miles in the past 4 years, and as I commute on my bike/tube, it will be a weekend warrior.. Is the noble just slightly too old and mental, the guys who own them are raving about them but is it all through a bit of rose tint?
Oh and no kids/woman to worry about..

AMV8 is gorgeous & makes a lovely noise, feels much more special than the 997 too. Just doesn't feel that quick & doesn't handle as well, the 911 is a challenging car to drive quickly, maybe that's what I like about it.
It was a shame as though I've always loved 911's I've wanted a V8V since they first announced them all those years ago, if money were no object I'd have one anyway, just to look at!
If you go for that 911 I can guarantee great service from Al and David at ADG great guys and a pleasure to deal with. Me and my dad have had 11 cars from there over the years. Which ever way you decide to go I'm sure you'll have fun. Personally if you have your heart set on a noble, buy it enjoy and if it's not for you, take the wrap off, a good clean and get your money back if not a small profit if you can negotiate on that price.
4.3 AM Vantage won't feel particularly quick - but they are, all done without drame until you look at the speedo. Need reving to get the most out of it. Sublime car for blasting accross France / Spain etc. Better interior than the Pork, and you will get let out of junctions in the AM - bizarre but true - it seems everyone loves an Aston when you are driving it.
Be prepared to be 'papped' by other drivers when you are in France and Spain- slightly off putting at first, cars steaming up your arse, then you realise the passenger is trying to get pictures.
AM will need its Geo setting up - they can feel really wrong on handling without. Check if the clutch has ever been replaced, not covered by the warranty. If you want to know anything in depth about AM's PH has a dedicated section, which is very active and knowledgable.

Just to provide a bit of balance, i have had a 997 C2S, 997 Turbo and currently have a 997.2 Turbo and would wholeheartedly recommend an M3 CSL if you could stretch.
The CSL feels like an event to drive, yet can actually seat 4 people. The irritating things about the 997 - the pattering ride, the front 'bob', poor lights, bad sat nav - were a little hard for me to deal with when it wasn't an out and out performance car. With a CSL, you can handle some of the annoyances because it gives back so much as a driver's car.
The latest range is a 991 is a very accomplished all rounder. The 997, in my eyes, is one of the most overrated cars out there. Although i'd favour a CSL, i'd also give the nod to the AMV8 too (also had one) and at least it's Aston, despite the foibles. A 997 is a bloody boring weekend car!
