Evening P/Her's and thanks for looking in. My son and I need to find something quirky for less than £500 for a charity event - search Chuddyball. We had our eye on an 1986 Opel Kadett which we just missed.

So if its less than £500 preferably with tax and mot past the close of the event 18/05/14 safe and quirky point me in its direction please.

Try Gumtree - there are lots of options for that sort of price range!

How about a nice big old Volvo barge-estate:

Feeling brave? How about an Alfa 147 Selespeed (with £100 left in the pot for likely-to-be-needed repairs!)

Waft your way through the rally (while keeping an eye out for electrical gremlins) in a nice big Citroen XM:

you get the idea! Some work will be needed on the above ones to get a new MOT but there are plenty of others on there with enough tax and ticket to get you through the rally.

Have fun

Steve

Would you be interested in a big Jeep?

I know of a '97 Grand Cherokee in shockingly good condition that could fit the bill?

^^^ There's a wise man

Seriously, the car belongs to my Nan, before that it belonged to my Grandad who bought it new in 1997.

He died in 1999 unexpectedly, she has had it since. It has had (in my opinion) way too much money spent on keeping it on the roads, I do believe it is MoT'd for another few months and it is taxed. It has a couple of minor dents from my Nan's total inability to park it, but the interior is like new and honestly, I think she would be happy to see it go to a really good cause like this.

Let me know if of any interest.

It is actually quite fun to drive, in a kind of stbox way.

Also, the diesel is proper old school - it is noisier than my 911 was!

With great pleasure, and a touch of sadness, I am happy to say Steve and co. took possession of our old Jeep this evening.

I will let him take up the mantle and direct to the next thread which will show what is about to happen with the car...
