I saw a 4-seater convertible with the roof down with four passengers on board for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago. It re-enforced my suspicion that it'd look ridiculous. For what it's worth I think it was an Audi A4.

A Mercedes CLK 320. I believe rust issues were sorted post 2003. They're lovely cars.
