Mercedes Concept Coupe SUV targets X6

That's right, the coupe SUV market is set to expand again

What you see here is the ‘continuation of the Stuttgart-based product offensive’. Or, more precisely, Mercedes seeing the phenomenal success of the BMW X6 and going “Ah, people seem to quite like this actually. We best do one.”

Imaginatively enough this Mercedes is the Concept Coupe SUV. It has been shown to the MB Board at today’s shareholders’ meeting ahead of its full launch at the Beijing show. Given Merc’s form with concepts (the recent GLA and CLA appearing very similar to their respective concepts), expect the production version of the Concept Coupe SUV to look much like this when it arrives next year. With these 22-inch wheels available for sure. As for a name, we can only guess for now. Would it be the MLA?

Anyway, Mercedes is promising ‘very dynamic handling’ from the production version. Apparently there is “a great deal of potential for Mercedes-Benz in the combination of coupe and SUV” according to Chairman Dr Dieter Zetsche. With the X6’s popularity, would anyone be brave enough to disagree?

The front of this and the GLA - A - CLA are so bloody ugly with those stupid square headlights, really don't like mercs current blob with slashes all over designs.

I think I'm one of the only people to like the x6, I see nothing wrong with it, it looks good, not everyone has children to lug around afterall. I would love a x650d m, if inly you could fuel it on the tears of it's haters
