Places to visit in Europe ?

Hi Folks,

I know this is probably a "how long is a piece of string?" question but....

Going to be spending a year (October 2014 - September 2015) in Europe, no definite schedule or route but VERY provisional itinerary is France : October-Nov & March, Portugal : Nov-Jan, Spain : Jan-Mar, Italy : April-May, Germany : May-June.

Any suggestions for motoring related venues or events to visit? Been to a couple of Grand Prix and a few museums so looking for memorable events ie really impressive, or unusual.
