So you Lord of the manor, you're stately home is still intact, you still have plenty of money in the bank so what do you spend your money on? Obviously nothing as ostentatious as a Rolls Royce and certainly not a chavy Bentley. Bristol have lost the plot, Morgan is great but you won't get the dogs I the back. Are we only left with Range Rover?

The lack of leather seats makes it even more entertaining for me smile

Although, as it would probably be terrible to drive, I'd have a MV6 for getting the papers and just park that out front when I had a 'do' on.

Probably have a V70 too...

Dark green Rangie. No more than two years old. Small wheels, no privacy glass. Dog guard in the back so the children don't disturb the Labrador.

Pretty much standard issue at every polo match I've been to.

You're all wrong.

The correct answer is an old Volvo 960 estate.

The only Bentley that seems a bit chavvy is the Continental really.. the other ones, such as the Arnage, still seem like proper old money wafters!

^^ This.

Although a large section of PH remains convinced that the entire British upper class is represented by a few impoverished eccentrics who drive Morris Travellers or beat-up Subarus.

My ex-wife used to drag me to horsey events, and we went to one at a massive estate in Ayrshire owned by two sisters. Their transport of choice? An old Citroen BX. Room in the back for the dogs, which had chewed it to buggery, and nice hydropneumatic suspension for bouncing along the cross-county course. Proper old money, I was most impressed.

Poshest lady I know (she attends royal weddings here and abroad, dontchaknow) drives a 1988 Mini 1000 with bull bars. She's about 90 and AFAIK has had the car since new.

But the answer is surely whatever HRH drives - so an old Defender.
