I've bought some cheap wheels I quite like for not a lot.

I was going to do a bit of a DIY refurb...
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

But they are more 'dented' than scuffed. Would involve a lot of building up with liquid metal / sanding smooth.. then saw these:

Not sure I have the time to refurb them myself, certainly not paying someone to do a proper job as 4 wheels cost me less than a round of drinks, but also hate scruffy rims. For £20 I might just stick 'em on in a matching colour to hide the worst of it.

Anyone every tried 'em?

My farther in law had a set fitted today. Utter ste, he's since removed and binned them. The natural force of the tyre bead seating dislodged them.

My friend fitted a set of alloy gators. He said they were a pain to fit, and one flew off on a trackday... on that basis it might be best to save your money towards a refurb.

But, but, they "have a factory applied lightweight double sided foam tape manufactured by Tesa in Germany."

Alloy gators are £60, I'm not spending that sort of money!

The ones I linked to will offer zero protection - just looking for a quick/easy/cheap short cut to tidy up my winter wheels.
