I like my CVT. Should I be worried?

I've just bought an Audi with a Multitronic transmission - a CVT. By all accounts I'm supposed not to like CVTs, but it's so smooth and serves up a constant surge of acceleration as well as just enough engine braking to make going through traffic a dream.
Should I visit the PH doctor?

i have one too, it's great. Fit for purpose in that vehicle (rav4) as it's for pootling around in.
flappy paddles and pseudo 7-speeds if i want, but never do.
other cars do the fun stuff.

I have to say I'm a big fan of it in my Insight as well. Provides constant full power acceleration. What's not to like?

I like the Multitronic in our Audi too. The CVT allows super-long gearing (45mph/1000rpm) on the motorway, so it cruises very quietly.

It also allows Audi to game the CO2 taxation system and come up with ridiculously low CO2 figures, so we pay less VED.

The only thing I don't like is the slightly delayed response from a standing start, which can make pulling out from a side road onto a busy main road a bit of a nerve-wracking experience.

The early Multitronics (deservedly) got a bad reputation for fragility, but I believe the latest version of the transmission is much more reliable, so long as you adhere to Audi's maintenance schedule for changing the transmission oil.
