Ford powershift

How good is the ford powershift box compared to say the vw DSG or the bmw 8 speed box?

I need an auto due to a dodgy knee and have driven cars with DSG, the BMW box and the Merc 7 speed but never the Ford.

I drove a Galaxy TDI for about a week and enjoyed it very much, I would say smoother than my 2006 R32.

(Assuming you're talking about holding steady when stopped on a hill rather than holding gear when climbing) Most new Fords have automatic hill brakes fitted anyway, even my Fiesta ST's got it. It's adjustable via the centre console, but you don't seem to be able to fully disable it.
