"It isn't until you take a closer look that you can see her biting them."
He added: "The owner has been contacted and has been very surprised and also apologetic about the whole situation."[/i]
Surely the owner should be coughing up for the damage rather than just feeling a bit apologetic. Words are cheap.

the lady obviously had no idea pooch was doing this, this is the kind of thing insurance is for!
Can you imagine being told your dog has been nibbling on tyres, 10 tyres, C.£100 per types that'll be £1000 please!

Yes, much more fair that 10 people should each be £100 out of pocket because she couldn't be bothered to control her animal. Tell you what, why don't you just imagine it was your car it happened to and throw £100 down a nearby storm drain?the lady obviously had no idea pooch was doing this, this is the kind of thing insurance is for!

A lot stronger than yo think that's for sure. Try googling some dogs bite strengths. You will also be surprised to see the ones we've all been told are dangerous are not actually the ones with the strongest bite. Don't forget a dogs bite is designed to grip flesh tightly while it shakes its head vigorously in order to tear that flesh off to eat it. dme123 said:

I guess the difference in my mind is that £100 to me would be a feasible amount of money to pay 'out of the blue.' whereas if a i had a £1000 bill i would be wondering how i will pay the mortgage next month.mini1380cc said:

Well, my dogs are possibly bigger and stronger than the dog in this story but they can crunch through a lamb or sheep head pretty quickly, and that can include eating the teeth...PHmember said:

If your dog damages somebody else's property then you should pay for it.
Absolutely, the owner should have Dog insurance that covers for public liability, we have ours insured as much for anything he does as much as anything that happen to him, they are extremely stupid creatures but I cant understand how anyone doesn't like Dogs, they are hilarious, fantastic creatures by and large when not chomping tyres. They smell awful, wreck everything they can bite or scratch at and get hair everywhere. You have to pick up their poo.
I would never harm an animal including dogs but I still don't like them and want nothing to do with them. Doggy people need to appreciate that not everyone likes dogs.

It is quite possible that the border collie in question is more intelligent than some people. 
It's odd actually. People who keep fish just post photographs of their aquarium a lot on Facebook. People who keep cats always keep their heads down incase their cat is crapping in someone else's plant bed. People who keep dogs assume that anyone who doesn't share their love of dogs must have something wrong with them.
