Where in the world do Insurance companies get their charges from ! Move my car from storage back to home, garaged (now garage is done) and they want to charge 25% of premium to change the "kept" at location ! Not like I had declared car off road and stored and a lowered premium as a result, only had it at different address. In this case I feel they are at it, can't claim the "postcode" issue as you run the storage location v home location in quotes and home comes in cheaper each and every time. Safe postcode.

I don't mind a representative admin charge but gouging couple of hundred quid for change out of me is taking the pi$$ !

Bloody admiral ! last time i will renew with them...

Seems to be part of an insurers business model these days. Lowball quote to start with then rip off customers with silly admin charges. That along with ramp up renewals in the hope that you don't notice and get another quote.

I got fined by my van insurer for forgetting to return a form last year laugh.

At the other end of the spectrum I insure my TVR with Mannings. You get to speak to a human being whenever you call, usually the same friendly chap. I called a while back to change a number plate and asked how much the admin fee was going to cost me. "Nothing" he says, "Only a bit of paperwork isn't it, that's what we're here for". smile

There's always a balance between quote price on one side and the level of cover / customer service / fees & charges on the other. Same with intro discount step out. Some are on a steeper curve than others. I suspect Admiral don't have fantastic retention rates (or at least unfavourable levels of churn).
