Before I continue please don't flame me!

I was thinking using some yellow film on the fog lights of my black Leon FR.

Would you think tacky chav, or think it looked nice or not even noticeable?

Discard the visibility differences.

Many thanks
Luke

Illegal?
Chav?
Jail sentence if someone dies because of your stupidity?

Can you live with yourself if someone pops their clogs because of a mysterious bright orange light?

Fog lamps are there for one reason and one reason alone.
To let the traffic behind you, see where you are in foggy weather.
Everyone knows they are very bright red.

Don't tamper with it fella.

I'm only guessing here, but I think he means front fog lights. Or at least I hope he does!

Are you on drugs? Its a bit of yellow film, used to see it all the while in the 70s and 80s, nobody died. Oh and he said black not back.

Yellow adds a spot of individualality to the car I guess. If you like the look of it have a go smile

Fully legal on both foglights and headlights.

I don't want to cheapen or make it look tacky or messed with to much.

At present the car is just running subtle spacers and red (Golf GTI colour) calipers, and 3days of paint correction.

I am not a chav!

I think it will look good, you can get yellow bulbs if you want to improve visibility in fog but if it's just aesthetics when the lights are off then buy some film and see how it looks.

I am putting 2 plus 2 and getting five so apologies if I'm wrong but are you planing on using the fog lights outside of poor visibility conditions so the car looks different? If so, chavvy.

If its for the (very) rare occasions when we get thick fog, I think yellow lights are actually beneficial over white lights in fog as you get less glare.

It's for aesthetic reasons. So chav then!

If the lights are to be illuminated for most evenings, why not put yellow headlight bulbs in the dipped headlights? Not illegal, still looks different. The fogs on in good light is illegal which is why it's a no no for me.

Either way, I can't say my car is fully legal all the time (number plate at front is off occasionally) so I'm certainly not one to listen to. smile

Is it legal? I know someone a few years back insisted on having yellow headlamps. He was told by his friendly MOT tester to have the headlamps back to the original state or face MOT failure.

Drill holes in the back of the lights and sikaflex a sidelight bulb holder into them with a yellow bulb, do the same with the indicators.

I did it on my B5 S4 because I wanted to look like an American chav biggrin

Looked good according to all of the people who asked me how I did it and copied it.

It's personal choice so why not?

Not illegal either. If they were to be red or green then yes chav and tacky.

What I don't get is folk these days who drive round in broad daylight with their front fog lights on 'pretending' they've got DRLs frown

Construction and use regs specify headlights may be white or yellow.
