Which sounds better? 5 or 6 cylinders when it comes to turbo engines, and which car?

I agree they sound great, but there is more than just the engine to make it sound like that.

Most 5 and 6 cylinder engines have a nice sound, although they are muffled somewhat with the addition of a turbo.

Ignoring race cars, Here are a few of my picks that spring to mind:

5 Cylinder turbo -

Audi - 2.2 20v -(they all sound great) RS2/S2 perhaps?
Fiat - 2.0 20v - Fiat Coupe, Always sounds good.
Volvo - 2.3 20v - Pretty much anything badged T5. V70.

6 Cylinder turbo -

Nissan - RB26DETT - Skyline GTR. WOW!
Toyota - 2JZGTE - Supra mk iv

5 cylinders are much more interesting to listen to than 6 cylinders.

850 T5, Audi 5 cylinder or Fiat Coupe on a straight through pipe, as fine as a car can sound. Just delightful.

For me, the 5 cylinder turbos have it. For the 6s (and n/a) Maserati A6 GCS.
