Optimistic price for a car on sale on PH.............?
Discussion
I suppose we're entitled to ask what we think our car is worth, but occasionally one comes along that is VERY optimistic.

WBAC values it at £3,090
Thoughts anyone ?

190mph ?! Surely not?
Well you say that but......Back in 2000 2 bosses where I worked both bought new Jags - one got an XJR, the other an XKR. The top-speed limiter was disabled and off they went to Germany. By all accounts the XJR was slightly faster at the top end and about 180 was reached in both cars. Maybe with bigger balls (which probably explains the XJR being faster) 190mph would be achievable.
This one has been on PH since Jan 1st. Even less miles, but a left hooker

I sold a straight six XJR for £5500 last summer. I did not drop 1 penny from the asking price, which seemed steep to some. Quite a lot for an old car, but the good ones with the right work carried out are thin on the ground. Mine was average to low milage. If you have a very low miler the price would be a lot higher than I asked.
It is very easy to buy a cheap one, then be forced to spend a few grand minimum correcting small issues. Even a sagging roof liner is a window out £1k job. Tyres are the same. Add in cosmetic and mechanical neglect and you'll be into mega a money pit. Buy a decent car at a decent price. The "what's your lowest price" brigade will get gang raped trying to run one of these.

There's an awful lot of useful info on these cars on PH (can't find the link though). If you are aware of the issues, and the car has been looked after fastidiously, then all will be well. If it's been neglected, a money pit. Pre 2004 year cars are those to be watched and checked thourghly before purchase.
