Cheapest to insure barge

Just bought myself a track prepped 1970 Datsun 240z and I love it. My original plan was for it to be my only car. I don't drive to work, but I do often go places midweek, so I don't daily but I use a car more than just a sunny weekend.
Trouble is, I think I love it a little too much to daily it. I am planning on getting it resprayed and a few minor body issues worked out, and after that I want to keep it nice and tidy (as tidy as a track car can be). I will still want to drive it all the time (that is after all the point of it), but I would like something I can drive 1.3 miles to tescos and not worry about flooding the engine etc.
Add this to the fact I have always hankered after a barge, it seems like the perfect timing.
So, in peoples experience, what is the insurance friendliest barge (as a 24 year old, insurance is likely to be one of the biggest costs in a year)? Having the 240z as a second car should also lower the insurance (although its only 400 a year so its hardly expensive).

My V70 is quite cheap to insure. I'm 29, middle of the road post code and I'm paying £400 for the year. Mileage capped at 10k, includes business use as well just in case I need it.
It's a 2001 2.4 petrol with factory fitted 7 seats (apparently this ups the insurance slightly as you've the potential for 6 passengers claiming in an accident)
I'm pretty chuffed, cheaper than my mondeo which preceded it

728 is pretty high on my list currently.

If I didn't need a wagon a 728i would be mighty high on the list.
Only niggle with them (for me) was the lack of a centre 3 point belt as standard (I've 3 kids)

What attracted me to my merc 300e was that it was around 1/3 the insurance cost of the 728s I was looking at, and actually cheaper than a fiesta! I hadn't even considered an old merc before.
I suspect this is because it was over some magic 20 year line (though I am not on classic insurance) - a 3 year younger car was double.
To start with get on the comparison sites with an excel spreadsheet and run through every possible you could buy!

yep had a 540 touring for a year sub £400 for a year with 10kpa at 29. not the cheapest barge maintenance wise if the rear suspension plays up but ended up doing nearly 30k with little more than servicing a new draglink and a rear levelling sensor whcih came to about £1000 for those 30,000 miles. purchase price of £1700
Have you looked into Lexus GS 300's or LS 400's. They can both be had dirt cheap and leather and RWD are pretty much a given.
I had a quick look today and am tempted by a £600 GS300 12 miles from me. I run a 55plate CLS 500 currently and have so far avoided any massive bills (18 months - fingers crossed) but fancy doing a bit of shedding for a while.
