Morning

There are lots of articles on the web about how the PS2 is being replaced by the Pilot Super Sport.

But yet the PS2 is still available from all sources, and the PSS doesn't seem to be available in an Audi "R01" fitment for the 255/35/19 size I need.

So, is the PS2 going to continue to be produced alongside the PSS? I'm aware of the PS3, but I'm not interested in that as an option.

Just curious. Must have too much time on my hands smile
Correct, the PS2 will be made for a long time yet. I think the original PS is still being made in certain OE fitments.

As part of the OE process I believe Michelin will have committed to make OE fitments like your RO1 mark for at least 10 years.

That said, I'd still put the PSS on in your situation, there's no legal or insurance issues.

Apparently the R01 fitment is needed for my car, as the standard tyres have a slightly different shape at the edge which rubs on part of the suspension.
I've no reason not to believe you, but that sounds incredibly unlikely!

I understand the RS6 is a well built car, but a tolerance so tight you can only use ONE subtype of a single pattern of tyre would be terrible design, and probably raise all sorts of class action issues when the general population start using other tyres, and having them explode.

That's incredible, sounds like a good excuse for spacers anyway!

Thanks for the kind words.
