Oh wonderful. Went to pay up at 20:10 this evening, turns out Admiral turn their phones off at 20:00. So I've had to clear my bank out so they can't renew a policy which has about 2 too many cars on it, and need to call them back at 8am!
I predict that someone is going to be posting about how to claim back unauthorised overdraft charges soon.Big News said:

If only they sent out reminder letters four weeks before, eh?
:roll eyes:
I've been home from uni over Easter, correspondence goes to my uni address...:roll eyes:
You know when you paid last year, it is your responsibility to sort it out.
FFS fella - grow a pair - you know when you have to pay this stuff out.
IT IS NOT THE OTHER PARTIES PROBLEM!
Harsh - but true.
It is up to you to sort out your own financial affairs
Why is everyone on the net a victim - OMG!
To work it out.
00:01 on the 28th is when...
00:02 on the 28th is then..
do this a few times a work backwards.
Odds are you will be fine - but we all learn from our mistakes. Sort it our 4 weeks beforehand.
Don't rely on others to do it for you.

Whose responsibility is it to be insured?

Well it was my dad's job to sort it all out, but he went and died so I've taken over the job of sorting out the family's car insurance "offshore" (well...Wales...), and I've had to chop and change the addresses for correspondence a few times as I've moved around. No letter yet.You know when you paid last year, it is your responsibility to sort it out.

It is YOUR responsibility - not theirs
And not all companies are savvy enough to screw you over with automatic renewals.
Heck - I'm sure - there is even an app for doing that - I believe it is called a calendar. Apparently all computers and phones have one.

Been there too.

1st thing - Sort out all the financials. It will help you a lot in the next 70+ years

Yep. Can't wait. It seems a bit crazy that there's no way I can get Admiral to stop trying to take £3000 out of my account. Even if I have been a bit thick about the definition of 'midnight'...
Land Rover did the same to me to the tune of £19,000. It gives you a sweaty brow, I tell ya.
If they are taking it tomorrow and it is on a Direct Debt, you should call your bank tonight and stop the DD otherwise you will be charged for unauthorised overdraft. Even if they can't stop the DD (it's actually too late now), that you have given instruction prior to the day it is been requested means you shouldn't be charged. You might have to call tomorrow too to double check it hasn't gone through....
