Haggling down this price possible?
Discussion
Hi everyone, first post on here. So nice to meet you all.
I'm looking at a new car to replace my shed of a Citeron Saxo vtr 03 plate.
Now i've seen this new Abarth Evo Punto 2014 for 16k
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a... .
My question is do you think its possible to get the dealer down to around 9-10k?
I REALLY want this motor but 16k is just out of my reach.
I can afford 11k at the most so was just wondering, do you think its possible?
And any hints or tips for me to get it there?
Thank you

Tip number one, find a car you can afford.
Tip number two, if you have to ask others how to haggle on the internet you aren't going to get much off.
Tip number three, if you are going to offer someone a third less than they are asking for something, you had better make them like you before hand or expect to probably offend them.
Tip number four, don't beg when you crap offer is laughed at/ taken offence at. Nothing worse than a grown man say "pleeeeeeeeese, it is all I have at the moment."

The very cheapest one on Autotrader is up for £9k. It's 3 years old and has done 40k miles and is being sold by a private seller. Why would the dealer sell a new one for the same amount?
For your budget there are a number for sale around £11k - two years old with up to 20k miles. Why not buy one of these?
