Narrow Lane passing

This morning on my way to work I met another motorist that was coming the other way on a narrow lane. There are passing places.
I had passed a passing place on a fairly straight bit of road about 100m back, the other motorist had a turning about 20m behind, but was just round a bend. The road widens around this bend too. We passed on the wide part of the bend BTW.
He did reverse but gave me expletives saying its dangerous to reverse round a bend after stating he cant reverse! Well he just did! So Is it more dangerous to reverse round a bend where you should be taking more care anyway or reverse down a straight ish bit only to come across a lunactic speeding.
So is it a dangerous corner or does he just drive too fast! I have lived round here for 7 months and have never thought it any more dangerous then any other part of the road.
Should I have reversed or him?

Whoever is nearest to the space reverses.
Unless they are a woman, or driving a 4x4, or elderly, or have a "spinal problem" as one man told me after choosing to get out of his car and come and tell me to reverse 100m so he didn't have to go 10m.
ETA: or they live on that road and are sick of reversing for "people like you" as one woman told me in exactly the same spot.

Same as me I have beepers and reversing camera that came on the car (Didnt order them) but provided the road is wide enough use one mirror and stay about 3 inches from that side and you will not hit anything.
I am good but in the same light if you drive then you should be competent at reversing.

thisHad a bit of shuffling to do in Devon tother day: Narrow road, car behind me, car comes towards. I'm nearest a space so me and car behind back up. I back into field entrance, car behind backs up road. Car coming towards goes by me, lets me out, then car behind me shuffles into space. Car coming towards carries on, after exchanging thanks and smiles with me. That seemed to work quite well.
Next one coming towards was a bit of a nob in as much as he could see me, and just passed a space, yet decided to keep coming and try and force me back. Teamwork folks, that's all it takes.

What really pisses me off is when you're "doing the right thing" and reversing, and the other guys starts driving at you 12" from your front bumper...
It's worse at night, I turn to sidelights if someone is backing up for me. Makes it much easier to see in the mirrors with less glare from the front.Benbay001 said:

I love reversing back, it gives me great pleasure because im 100% sure the other driver is in awe at my god like reversing skills.
This times 1000. My reversing is probably better than my going forwards (which is pretty awesome anyway) and I love an excuse to reverse back up a narrowing lane whilst the driver in front wonders if I'm actually a stuntman or something.I love reversing back, it gives me great pleasure because im 100% sure the other driver is in awe at my god like reversing skills.
I had a strange one the other day. I was in north yorkshire and ended up on a single track bridge over the ouse. I was 3/4 of the way over (max 5mph speed limit, due to rickety-ness) when a Jaguar XF comes on to the bridge at WELL over 5mph! I came to a halt before he seemed to notice me, and then informed me through my windscreen that I should back up. Me and the other 10 cars behind me.
He had no cars behind him, and had to reverse a few meters to a wider section where we could pass easily. He reversed in the end but made a COMPLETE hash of it, almost grazing his car a couple of times. As I passed him I could see him actually shaking - whether that was through anger or not I don't know - he didn't want to make eye contact as I passed. I was only going to say thanks as we passed.
If I had realised reversing was such a problem to him, AND there was no one behind me, I'd have gladly backed up - without making a hash of it!

Probably shaking due to fear. Some people are awful at reversing.
