My niece is learing to drive, and will need a small car, maximum £4k

I thought maybe Fiesta, Corsa etc ( I don't think Polos of that cost / vintage get good reviews ), any other suggestions would be very welcome. Maybe a Suzuki Swift ?

Thanks
AC

new shape panda might not be a bad call, the inlaws just got one to tow behind their motorhome and its not bad at all considering they are very cheap even when new....

The first thing to do is start an insurance quote on a comparison site to see what works out cheaper.. There will be hundreds if not thousands per year between different cars, so this would be my starting point.

Toyota Yaris 1.0 VVTi. She'll have a good chance of insuring that too.

My daughter is 17 and has just bought a ka, it's about the only car that was reasonable to insure at £1300

I learnt in an old shape punto, probably a bit old now, but they're definitely insurable and can be quite desirable in a bright colour! Mine is a bright blue '03 and nothing has gone wrong with it after 3 years of abuse, amazingly!

Do newer c1s or aygos come within budget?
