Renault Megane wing mirror

The missis got a late 2009 Renault megane convertible ..

The other day an idiot clipped the wing mirror going opposite direction and drove off.. Initially thought no real damage as there was only a scuff mark on the cover and all the electrics still works fine. But now, when driving on the motorway, the mirror (glass only) vibrate/rattle - very annoying

How do I remove the cover, want to have a look and hopefully find a way in fixing whats broken back there

IIRC popping the rear cover off won't reveal anything; behind the cover is just the back of the mirror assembly, you will have to go in from the front, so will have to pull off the glass, usually it just pulls off however it does take a hefty effort and it does feel like something is gong to break but it can be done, be careful not to break the glass, you can slip your fingers behind and dislodge the clips that hold the glass to the motor assembly.

There are two motors in there and each motor has a cog which in turn moves a white bit of plastic which has teeth, this moves in and out as the motor turns, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the white bits of plastic has either just been dislodged from it's mounting; in this case it just pops back in, or is broken.

Manage to easily get the glass off, and find that both the 2 clips at the bottom has broken off, from the piece glued to the glass

Now, need to find a place where I can find a replacement , glass only, if possible ?!!?

eurocarparts, try to get an original not pattern part

I take I can then get the glass only, with the plastic back/bracket .. Let me chk - thx!!

You'll be able to get the glass and the plastic mount/bracket; they come together, at any decent Motor Factor's or a Renault dealer.
