Visiting Pebble Beach

I am visiting California in August this year from NZ. Sadly I can't make the main Pebble Beach Concours however I can try and bend plans to attend the Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours and/or the Pebble Beach Tour as it passes through Carmel. Has anyone ever been to either of these two side events?

I've not been to those events, but I did stay in Carmel last summer. Even on a normal non-event weekend the traffic was quite heavy getting into the area. You might also find that accomodation is scarce within any sensible radius unless you book well in advance.

I have done the whole week of events and may well do so again this August. Getting around is simple, the organisation is wonderful, however finding suitable accommodation is much harder. Start soon and you can get all of the help you need online from the people organising the drives or Octane Magazine who I am sure will soon be publishing their annual guide.

Hm traffic could be a problem then. Unfortunately it's pretty hard to get Octane here in NZ!
