Just for fun. You have just emigrated to the US-of-A and are in the market for a new set of toys.

Rules: 1 car for daily, 1 for fun, one for the missus if you need one.

Heres mine;

Daily: Yellow Camaro

Fun: Red Pontiac Solstice

Mrs: RR Evoque. We've got one and love it, plus it'll sing the British song. Great for family trips.

My Uncle lives in San Antonio and hugely enjoys playing at being the "British baddie driving a huge blacked out XJR". My Aunt drives a BRG XF V8.

I'd have a red Corvette C6 Z06 and a Cadillac CTS-V wagon for the missus:

You buy an SUV as the family waggon and distances and either a classic Mustang or a small European car for fun.

Daily because I'm English and it would be fairly cheap to initially buy.

Which would give me more cash to buy this and with petrol being cheaper, could afford to run it. smile

My brother moved to the US of A and bought a 2006 S600 in black (He's not a gangster though).

Stand out from the masses of pick-ups and assorted trash - Get a German barge.

A truck with a tow boom. Preferably rusty in places and built somewhere in the 40's with a nice little tweaked old school V8 something under the bonnet (sorry, cannot say that other word, it's just wrong).

The second car would be a TVR.

The latter justifies the former.

I prefer to be self sufficient and do my own towing.

I love Crown Vics, sort of the dictionary definition of a car, so comfy and spacious, so tough and dependable, I love getting taxis in the states, so many are ex Police on half a million miles, they sort of look better a bit scruffy with steel wheels, perhaps with a bit more under the hood (want to say bonnet but cant in this context)

Are they actually good to drive ?

I would recreate the White family's garage from 'Breaking Bad' near as damnit I suspect.

I'd also buy an M4 Carbine - if I'm moving to America, I'm going to buy guns. Lots of guns.

Disregarding the part about how difficult it'd be to actually buy a car if a non resident, I really liked playing hirecar roulette at AVIS while I was over in California a couple of years ago

3 Mustangs, an Infiniti, a Taurus, a Chevvy Cruze, an Impala and a Camero SS later I preferred the Mustangs

If I were to go for relatively modern cars it would have to be the following:

C6 Z06 for the daily as they are quite reliable, have a large boot and are not that much worse on fuel than my current commuter. Being nippy is also an advantage.

The wife would get the f150 raptor.

Fun car would be the Ford GT.

Somewhere within all of the above would be a lottery win!
