Anyone else noticed the reserve prices have been lowered for this auction? Has anyone bought anything interesting today ? I placed absentee bids on a couple but had no joy.
A few that caught my eye - AAD 44M £10k + fees ! COB 427D £5500 + fees ! CRA 119S £3600 + fees seemed a reasonable price. I can't help think that the pressure of auction pushes the price up on some, at best average plates.

I get the AC Cobra one and I guess the other is some form of "Adam"? What is CRA 119S about?

There's quite a few FM plates still not been issued, you can request one to be placed in future auction.

Good luck with that!! I've asked repeatedly for 5 plates to be added and I keep getting told they will be but they never are. Lol.

Also, I don't understand why you the variants that you can buy from the DVLA website are so limited. Frustrating.

I asked the DVLA to sell a number from the 1930's which was my Dad's, but reversed. I knew they couldn't sell it as is, so reversed. The reserve price was £1,200 and with three letters and three numbers it meant nothing to anyone else. So it went unsold. At £250 I'd buy it, but not more. some years back I asked the DVLA to sell 1 OKV, the reverse of the 1954 Le Mans D-type. Then they sold 2 OKV and then 3 OKV, the last at over £11,000. I owned 60 KV and asked the DVLA to then sell 6 OKV to make a pair. A snake in the grass, known to me, outbid me deliberately.

Interesting, can I ask how you find out what is left unissued and how you request it! Would love 11 FM, 22 FM, 33 FM, 44 FM, 55 FM, 66 FM 77 FM or 99 FM. Actually I think a few of those are taken... from what I have seen.

Who are you asking?
I asked for 3 plates and all were put into the very next auction.

If you have a good contact I'd be keen to know, there are a couple of plates I am very interested in to.

There is a contact email address on the Dvla auction website to request a registration.

Eta 11 FM and 99 FM should be available

Given how many reverse FM plates have been sold at auction I'd guess they were never issued.

Sorry, I meant how do you determine the identity of plates that have not been issued?

I know lists are on the DVLA site, but these older ones that don't appear there?

I've emailed from a link on the DVLA auction website. Always get a personalised named reply. I always hear others saying that they have requested plates that have gone into the next auction. The email replies always state that the plates I have requested have never been issued and are eligible to be auctioned, too.
