What do you mean it has no back seats?

For a few months now the wife has been in total agreement with me, that when she buys my Mini coupe off of me. I can have a Mini GP2. Brilliant I thought, fantastic little track weapon.
Now that whopper has been dropped on me, I gathered my senses and countered with - "When in the 18 months of us having only a 2 seater have we actually needed 4 seats?" We've decided not to pursue reproduction of the species, so I can't see any reason why to get something sensible. Anyone had a similar conversation with their mrs by any chance?

I have pretty bad hips, clutch work is difficult so whatever we get will always be a second car ( the mini coupe is auto and will remain to be my transportation to work, wife doesn't drive to work ).

I worry that I'd get bored of a saloon car - albeit a very fast one.

Current owners of the above 2, was it a compromise purchase?

I can't do too extreme because of hips and getting in and out, otherwise it would be an Exige or a caterham superlight.

Just looking for a bit of advice, I've got 18 months to save up and to decide, grin factor is a must as cars are all I have to blow off steam.

Best of luck in your endeavours though and I agree, it doesn't sound like you need two 4-seat cars.

My wife sees M3s as a bit childish, but I still fight their cause and that would be my first choice in my budget.

My wife doesn't understand the word 'budget' so her choice is an Evora, so that's my answer to you, pick the Evora if possible.

yeah I see what your saying there.. let me explain, current car is a lease. so I either give it back or we find the money to replace, she has said she wants to buy it as a goal ( just got a promotion)

Believe me, there will be no crotch droplings on the horizon.. this was a wife lead decision that I am 100% onboard with. I'm after something thats still pretty new, I think a 911 would be the next level up - I want to get a few more years under my belt and a few more pounds in the bank before I start going down the serious car route - ie GT3s etc.

Your message makes no sense really, but as others have interpreted it as what 2+2 to buy I shall follow.

I just went through this with my wife. Sold my pure 2 seater and found a nifty hatchback 2+2 solution that works better for family commitments.

I guess all I'm saying is chin up and blag the car you want the most. I've set the bar on this one I think...

thanks for the encouragement, now to convince the mrs. the mini we have is a two seater, it would mean both cars we have are 2 seaters!
