Waxoyl Spray

Going to give the sills of my X-Type (Mondeo haha) the Waxoyl or Underseal treatment.The sills on the X-type are primed inside so they rust like a ships hull and can cost a fortune to replace.

I had a look at mine this evening on advice of a friend and they are clean as a whistle. Obviously i would like to keep them that way so thinking about giving the underside a treatment of it.

I used a black undersell product about 5 years ago which was a thick black icky substance which I can;t recall the name of.

I have been looking around tonight and found Waxoyl in spray form and Carplan Body Underseal.

Can anyone recommend one over the other.

I see Waxoyl make a spray in clear which sound ideal but see is it thinner than the tin and therefore need more.

I've used waxoil once, and it seemed to do what I need it to, about the thinner one, I believe sometimes thinner is better as it makes it way in to small gaps and hard to reach areas better.

Have a look at bilt hamber dynax s50 and ub. Used on and in the sills of my old passat to good effect. Comes with a long lance to get right inside cavities.

Assume you are going to treat the inside of the sills, because that is where the rust starts. If so you can buy any form of "Cavity Wax". For the outside you want something that can be described as "Stoneguard" but be careful not to block the sill drain holes.

What I do know is that when treating sills from the inside most companies drill them from an area below the door lock and then fit a plug.
