Are all convertible owners miserable?

having passed many convertible drivers recently driving with the roof down during sunnier days. One thing has stood out to me, more than the fact they are actually dressed up like Arctic explorers, is the fact all of them had a face like a smacked arse! not a single one of them seemed to be pleased at having the roof down and the wind in their hair/on their heads!?

So convertible owners of PH, are you all miserable bds when the roof is off or have I just been passing numerous convertibles who must have broken and permanently down roofs!

I strongly suspect that the average miserableness of convertible drivers is much the same as of tin-top drivers, you just notice it more when there's no roof shading their faces.

For some reason, most people seem to be miserable and/or angry when driving.

I find people who are happy all the time more disturbing than the slightly miserable looking ones to be honest.

I hadn't passed any convertible performance cars. Mainly just mx5's and megane convertibles. perhaps thats what it is! the boring convertibles

I must admit that when I am out and about sans lid it is almost always for hoonage. Don't take it to work anymore so its something to look forward to. I can imagine even the most hoonable motor being a drag in the city or some other dire place in stop start traffic and a day of a grief ahead.

I'm always happy to have the roof down as it usually means its not raining

For me it's impossible to feel miserable when driving with the roof down, sometimes even in the rain! I can't imagine how miserable it would be to not own a Convertible,! Ideally its rear wheel drive with a 6cylinder (+) petrol engine...perhaps the miserable ones are driving those inexplicable Dalziel roofless Tractors?!..

In a month and a half, when I get back to the UK, I will be buying a soft top in just this configuration (E36 328) although I'll add manual to the list.

I'll be sure to come back to this thread with a picture of me driving it sporting a smile and some custard to prove all convertible drivers aren't miserable.

I only get miserable when I have to put the roof back on, takes about 10 minutes and it makes my hands filthy.

I always thought only bald men drove convertibles but then I realised it's because I can see their heads and in fact most men are bald just that the majority choose to hide their shame in a tin top.
