Help, Any Advice!

My vw polo 1.9 tdi PD Engine, is having some problems. It was leaking oil after a full service which turned out to be a sump so I've replaced that with a stronger aluminium one. Problems I am having now are; when I start the car it will either start then die or start and make a loud noise and then that noise disappears. When it does not start I rev it quite loud then it will go on like normal. Also the central locking in the car does not seem to be working which means the remote central locking does not work either. I took it to a diagnostics specialist for German cars in Teddington who said it was to do with my central module and quoted me at 400£ which I know was wrong. Another guy said one wire in the car has fused causing the whole cars central locking not to work? So many different answers. The central locking doesn't really bother me its the problem with the ignition that is quite worrying, and apparently its got nothing to do with the starter motor? I`ve spent further money on air filters and pipes for the car.

How can you "rev it loud" when it hasn't started? What are you on about?
Its very hard to explain. Its one of those things where a video would help. The car is starting with a loud noise some days and not starting some days. When Im turning the key and I rev it past 4000 rpm it will start on some occasion. For example when I took it to the mechanic four of us had to push it to start which it did eventually. This is the recently purchased Polo 1.9 TDi which has been extensively modified by the previous owner. OP isn't really familiar with exactly what modifications have been done. You need to buy something less modified and learn each step on the ladder, rather than buy something someone else wants shot of...
Sump leaking - how? Was it damaged? If it's leaking at the sump it's normally just the gasket.
Has the car thrown up an engine management light? Does it smoke a lot when it finally does start up?
It could be all manner of things.

Bless, I knew from your readers cars thread it wouldn't last long. What did you do to the sump, crack it? If you have run the engine with no oil in it it is probably toast.
The sump was cracked, yes. I stated already the car went a full service by vw which means they did put oil in? They noticed it and told me about it, then I sourced a new one. The ignition is the problem right now and im guessing it is electrical. When the car does start it runs like an absolute dream. I know exactly what modifications are done to the car and I did state them in the post. Im in close contact with the previous owner who does help me out quite alot. He did say I could even have my money back when VW said there was an oil leak but I wanted this car. This car is a second car for me which is being stripped into a track car. Even if the engine is an absolute flop, ill still work around that as this is a "project car." This is my first project car and I came in to ask people with similar problems. There has been a lot of change to the car and alot of money spent on it; to further it into being a track car which I haven't shared on here. So please don't jump straight to conclusions. This is one problem, which I shall fix.

Diesels don't have ignition systems, at least not electrical. And referring to your previous post, if it's revving past 4000rpm, it has already started; the starter motor will not spin it at that speed.Sorry, but 'Aahm oot'

What kind of loud noise are you meaning when it starts i.e. Is it coming from the engine itself?
