researching and test driving in advance
Discussion
Ok, I'm looking at buying a couple of cars when I recieve an inheritance in a few months time. One will be a commuter, probably a focus or astra diesel that I wont be to fussed about piling on miles and getting dirty. The other will be a weekend toy to be cherished. Ive narrowed my choice down to an s2000 a boxster s or a Z4 3.0.
I want to test drive a couple of these in advance so when I do have the cash I'll know exactly which one to get. What I dont want to do is waste peoples time when I won't be actually buying for a good few months.
Anyone else been in a similar situation? Whats the best way to go about this?

Go into the relevant dealerships, look at the cars and tell the sales staff you're deciding which car you'll be buying. Ask for test drives to help you make up your mind.
How else would you go about it?
Don't tell them anything they don't need to know, do tell them the competition. How else would you go about it?

Test driving in advance.
Do what's in the title.
Thats as maybe, there are a couple of z4s and a boxster up for sale near me at the moment. I could go and see these today but, if im honest about my intentions I could be deemed a time waster which I am not. I just want to be sure of which car to go for so I dont have to faff around when I do have the cash.Do what's in the title.
