Argh!! How much to fix this dent?

Not sure how this happened exactly but I think a van was trying to reverse out and made a massive dent in my front wing. Irony is that the van was delivering some vader seats which I ordered for the car...

Asked around some PDR people and they say it's not possible to repair using PDR so any ideas how much it would cost to go to a bodyshop? My insurance excess is £300.

I guess the silver lining is that it's only one panel which is damaged and paint doesn't appear to be scratched.

Could you not put a claim in against the courier? Or can you not be certain it was them?

Just to repaint might be your excess as my Fos bumper was £270 or so I'd say below £500 at an educated guess assuming it's just the wing? I'd find a good local shop who'll do it for cash.

I know of a magnificent one near Cranfield which would be about 50 mins to an hour for you. Happy to collect you and drive you back to MK station if you want me to put you in contact?

You're looking at a new wing, bonnet and door will likely need blended in too, don't reckon you'll see much change out of £800, but it'll depend how much a new wing costs.

Wings are bolt on panels on BMW IIRC. Cheapest way would be to ring some specialist breakers and try to find a good one in correct colour. Simple bolt off bolt on repair.

DIY fix... new wing bolt on job.

Bolt on wing job then a bit of polish around the area to make the colours match better.

Yeah I'm going to do that, they're closed in the weekend though.

Estoril Blue is the correct colour but doesn't look exactly the same - missing the black bar?
Will keep looking around ebay, breakers, etc.

Put the job on whocanfixmycar.com and got a quote for £140 - what would be the result of that? I'm guessing it's just pushing the dents back out.

The black bar is a removable rubbing strip, easily taken off and refitted, I take mine off just for cleaning sometimes.

The two white clips on the replacement are what hold the black rubbing strip trim on - you swap the one you have onto the replacement.

I'm a bit concerned that you didn't know that...

I think the OP is right, that wing isn't the same.

It's from the lightweight CSL version where the black rubbing strip is replaced with two smaller white rubbing strips which were affixed at the point where impacts are most likely to occur on the wing. This saves weight.
