Ideas for estates that have a bit of go in them?

Im after a replacement for my Mazda 6 diesel estate. I dont do the mileage I used to so would like something a bit quicker. I have a budget of upto £7k. Ive been looking at S4 avants and a few Mercs, is there anything else out there that Im missing?

Depending on your definition of a "bit" of go the <2007 V70 T5 is brisk if not staggering and probably the best true estate car - £7k would get you a very nice example

T5 can fairly easily be tweaked to give 300+ bhp (much more and it needs better rods). Quick enough for most folk, but drinks 99 octane.

Audi A6 C6 4.2 Quattro maybe? 0-60 in 5-9 secs, 330bhp (I think).

Legacy 3,0. Spec B if you can stand the hard ride. Standard spec really good car to cover long distances.28mpg. Dealers good, but not cheap. If oils regularly changed they go on & on,

There's a nicely specced one on the market at the moment that I'm aware of. If only I could justify swapping my Hatch for the Wagon...

Smashing just what I was after, didn't know that Saab even existed lol. A6 could be worth a look as with the Volvo. As for the VXR Dave I keep looking at them and know I'll pile loads of cash into and really don't want to do that again. This car is a buy and drive, absolutely no tuning! ......probably&#128540;


I'm stuck in work today so I'll do some googling.

Or the 2.0 turbo GT-B for a bit more go, would have to be an import for you I think.

Spend £2000 on a good Saab 9-5 HOT, pocket the rest and be thankful. That should also net you a very, very impressive B5 S4 2.7 biturbo.
