Evening guys.

I had a little accident and think my 535d will be a write off (not my fault I must add) and as a car goes, it was the best all rounder I could want.

I'm not sure how much I'll get paid out for it but I need another family car, and I only want to pay, as stated, a maximum 2.5k.

I have I little list of musts

4/5 doors
More than 4 cylinders (diesel or petrol allowed)
Age does not matter, but has to be reliable enough to be used every day
Wafty cruiser preferred.

I bet this has been done before plenty of times but any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Probably condition is the most important, you'll probably be tripping over £2500 Mondeos.

The problem I'm having is that I can't see past a BMW.

I would spend more if I'm buying something desirable (and appreciating or a future classic)

Saab 9-5 Aero? 4 Cyl mind you. You'd probably get an E46 with 6 cylinders for that price but I'd imagine it would be pretty ropey.

Rover 75 V8?

The Saab 9-3ss 2.8 turbo is a V6. Bit of bartering might see this one for 2.5k? No connection to seller BTW.

Volvo V70 with the D5 or T5 engine.

S60 if you want a saloon.

Cheap, reliable, plenty of space and very comfortable.
